Obligation to receive since 2025
Since 1 January 2025, companies subject to VAT must be able to receive e-invoices.
Peppol
With your own Peppol-ID, suppliers, public sector clients and business partners can reach you through a direct route: structured, validated and tamper-proof. GetMyInvoices registers your Peppol-ID, receives incoming e-invoices automatically and transfers them into your existing invoice workflow.
Peppol is an international network that companies use to exchange e-invoices directly and securely, without email attachments and without portals. The Peppol-ID is your unique address in this network. With GetMyInvoices, you register your Peppol-ID free of charge in every plan and receive incoming e-invoices automatically.

Since 1 January 2025, companies subject to VAT must be able to receive e-invoices.
An invoice with formal errors can count as an other invoice, which allows the tax office to refuse the input tax deduction retroactively.
Invoices are spread across different mailboxes, require manual processing and are easily overlooked.
Invoices can be intercepted on their way by email and provided with a false IBAN.
Via Peppol, companies transmit their e-invoices directly from software to software instead of sending them by email or uploading them to a portal. So that your documents arrive securely, the exchange runs through certified access points. Every participant is uniquely addressable through their Peppol-ID, comparable to a telephone number for e-invoices. GetMyInvoices is a product of fino data services. As a certified Peppol Service Provider, fino data services is connected to this network and receives on your behalf all invoices sent to your Peppol-ID.
For the e-invoicing obligation since 2025, the only thing that counts is that your company can receive e-invoices, for example via Peppol. The four-corner model behind Peppol ensures that sender and recipient are securely connected through their respective Access Point.
A Peppol-ID is worthwhile for every company that receives e-invoices. It complements your existing incoming channels, such as online portals and email inboxes, as soon as a business partner uses the direct Peppol route.
You register your Peppol-ID directly in GetMyInvoices, in just a few steps. You do not need any additional program and no technical prior knowledge. The Peppol-ID is included in every GetMyInvoices plan at no extra cost.

GetMyInvoices registers your Peppol-ID. In the network, fino data services represents you as a certified Peppol Service Provider.
As soon as your Peppol-ID is active, business partners can send you e-invoices via Peppol.
A Peppol-ID via GetMyInvoices does not replace your accounting or tax advisor software, it complements it. GetMyInvoices receives the e-invoices via Peppol and hands them over in structured form to your existing software, for example DATEV, Lexware Office or sevdesk. Your familiar accounting and transfer process therefore stays unchanged. This way, Peppol remains an additional incoming channel for you that fits seamlessly into your invoice workflow.
No, you do not need your own Peppol-ID for the obligation to receive that applies since 1 January 2025. You have to be able to receive e-invoices, regardless of the transmission route. GetMyInvoices receives e-invoices automatically via email, portals and Peppol. Your own Peppol-ID is worthwhile as soon as business partners send via the Peppol network, and as preparation for future requirements.
The Peppol-ID is free of charge at GetMyInvoices and included in every plan at no extra cost. There are no separate fees for registration and receipt via Peppol. You only pay for the GetMyInvoices plan you have chosen, which covers the complete invoice workflow.
Peppol is the transmission route, XRechnung is the format of the invoice. Peppol transports the file securely through the network, while XRechnung defines which mandatory details the invoice contains. Via Peppol, you receive an XRechnung just as you receive other EN 16931 compliant formats.
| Peppol | XRechnung | |
|---|---|---|
| Function | Network / transmission route | Invoice format |
| Purpose | Transports e-invoices securely and tamper-free | Defines the mandatory invoice details |
| Comparable to | the postal route | a letter |
| Basis | OpenPeppol specification | European standard EN 16931 |
Via Peppol, you receive all common e-invoice formats with GetMyInvoices. These include XRechnung, ZUGFeRD and Factur-X as well as the underlying syntaxes UBL and CII. The European standard EN 16931 is decisive, and the usual transmission standard in the Peppol network is Peppol BIS Billing 3.0.
Activation happens promptly and in most cases takes only a few minutes. Once you have submitted your details, GetMyInvoices takes care of registering your ID in the Peppol network. As soon as the ID is active, you receive a confirmation and can receive e-invoices.
Sender-ID and Receiver-ID refer to the Peppol-IDs of the sender and the recipient of an e-invoice. Every Peppol-ID identifies a participant uniquely in the network, similar to an address. When receiving, your Peppol-ID is the Receiver-ID to which business partners deliver their invoices.
Your Peppol-ID is unique and tied to your company. If you receive via GetMyInvoices, our company fino data services takes over your registration and representation in the network as a certified Peppol Service Provider. Changing the service provider is generally possible in the Peppol network and works in a similar way to porting a telephone number from one provider to another. Just contact our support team to arrange it.
