Using GetMyInvoices, users can view invoices etc. automatically import into the enterprise content management system Amagno . We spoke to Jens Büscher, the company’s founder and CEO.
**Jens, you have been providing an innovative enterprise content management solution since 2010 ensure that companies’ paper consumption is significantly reduced. How did you come up with the idea of founding Amagno? ** I worked in the public service for seven years. Paper was the grail of work, rooms upon rooms were full of paper. The PC: an expensive typewriter. Everything was printed or copied, especially what arrived on the desks. Every employee copied every process for their files. Nevertheless, no one knew where a process was or where it needed to go. In the event of staff shortages, the process stood. Of course, retrieving information is hardly possible. I looked around to see what digital solutions were available on the market. Many, but far too technical and difficult to use for employees in offices. I wanted to change that with Amagno. With Amagno we want to improve people’s everyday working lives so that they can find time again to devote themselves to their core tasks.
**What goals does Amagno pursue with this? ** Clarity. Employees put Amagno into operation independently within a few minutes, find everything again and work in a legally compliant manner. All processes are transparent. Amagno makes the company an open book when it comes to user rights, as the integrated full-text search finds everything in seconds. Thanks to the “magnetization” that gives it its name, Amagno reads data from receipts so that there is hardly any need to type out information. At the same time, the company receives greater legal certainty than through analog work and becomes more sustainable.
**What differentiates Amagno from other ECM providers and how simplifies yours ****Digital workplace solution affects everyday company life? ** Essentially, all ECM providers are functionally similar and the market is large enough for every company to find their favorite provider. Our focus can be described in three aspects: everywhere, immediately, sustainably. “Everywhere” means: The workplace is everywhere – on any device and at any time. By “immediate” we mean: We are in a new millennial generation, users as well as decision-makers. Everyone wants to load their solution straight from a shop and put it into operation. It simply has to be convincing in minutes. That’s exactly what we’re focusing on. By “sustainable” we mean both ecological and economic sustainability.
**To what extent does this reduce companies’ carbon footprint? ** It would be too short-sighted to focus solely on the paper saved - although that alone makes a big difference, as the production of paper uses an incredible amount of wood, water and energy resources. A recently published study by the digital association Bitkom showed that digitalization is a crucial lever for climate protection. Collaborative digital solutions & cloud sharing platforms reduce 15 to 17 percent of transport and primary energy emissions in a business context. If less paper, toner and other valuable resources are used, this has a positive effect on the company’s carbon footprint - and automatically on its finances.
**Do you also invest in environmental protection measures in other ways? If yes, which one? ** Amagno owns one Green team , which is dedicated to green issues with a high level of personal commitment. We have already achieved a lot through this. In addition to various small things, we compensate for our necessary business trips, which have been significantly reduced since Corona. In the future, we will continue to try to only travel when it is really necessary and then to choose environmentally friendly means of transport. In addition, every year we donate the CO2 equivalent of all digitally stored documents in the Amagno Business Cloud to CO2-compensating projects. We also try to do this with all purchases, e.g. B. to focus on sustainability through used hardware or green data centers through to green electricity. Our Green Team has become our personal environmental police, always available with great ideas and valuable tips. I think that if we continue to raise our sustainable awareness and continue to act in an environmentally conscious and sustainable manner in the future, we can still achieve a lot.
**Amagno is one of the fastest growing digital companies in Germany. What lies behind your concept of success? ** A key success factor is our one-stop shop concept. Amagno develops almost everything itself and users receive all functions right from the start. We avoid module chaos and do not charge page prices for each scanned sheet. The pricing model is very simple. The customer is independent of us and does not need any external help.
**Why did you rely on the cloud? what experiences have you had with it?
**We live in a new world of decision-makers and employees. I would also like to use a solution for us immediately and thus solve a problem. This should be able to be connected to other systems very quickly using interfaces. I am not interested in months of services and expensive external consultants. The cloud, together with the right product, provides this. We can also make improvements available to users very quickly. The experiences are very good. The discussion about security often hinders the topic, as does a poor broadband connection. In addition, when it comes to security, we shouldn’t deceive ourselves: every server that can be accessed from outside is attacked. Here the cloud has advantages for the big players, e.g. B. at Microsoft, which invests millions and thousands of specialists in security every year.
**Your next big online event will take place in October. Can you give a preview of some program highlights? ** We presented trends, perspectives and new interfaces. This year it will be a public online event. We invited Lars Thomsen as a keynote speaker for our keynote on the topic “Future of the Working World”. There are again many interesting topics and inspiration on how to use Amagno to successfully shape the digital future. We will also present the next generation of our software as a multiplatform app. The project is one of my passions and I am very excited about the feedback from the participants.
**What are your further plans for the future? ** The focus for us is clear, but it has many milestones: Amagno is intended to become one of the leading ECM cloud platforms with a high level of self-service. The future lies in automation and digital business processes with anyone. ECM has to go out of the company because business processes are typically cross-company. That is our goal.
